About the OpportunityA growing company in the decking and outdoor living industry is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing sales team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on sales leader who understands residential construction, home improvement, or building products and enjoys helping representatives convert leads into satisfied customers.
The Sales Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth, improving sales processes, and strengthening relationships with homeowners, contractors, builders, and referral partners. The right candidate will bring strong leadership ability, practical field experience, and a commitment to creating an excellent customer experience from the first consultation through project completion.
Success in this role requires visibility in the field, consistent follow‑up, and the ability to balance sales urgency with quality workmanship. The Sales Manager should be comfortable inspecting job sites, discussing product options, reinforcing pricing discipline, and helping the team communicate value clearly. Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and hold the sales team accountable for meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales goals.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor new sales representatives.
- Develop sales strategies that increase market share, improve close rates, and support profitable growth.
- Review pipeline activity, lead follow‑up, conversion rates, and key performance metrics.
- Conduct ride‑alongs, sales meetings, role‑playing sessions, and one‑on‑one coaching conversations.
- Support representatives with estimating, presentations, objection handling, and deal strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, real estate professionals, and strategic partners.
- Ensure every customer receives clear communication, accurate expectations, and professional service throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with operations, design, and project management teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and updates for company leadership.
- Stay informed on local market conditions, competitors, product trends, and industry best practices.
- Previous experience as a Sales Manager, Sales Supervisor, Team Lead, or Senior Sales Representative.
- Experience in decking, fencing, outdoor living, construction, remodeling, roofing, windows, siding, landscaping, or another home improvement field is highly preferred.
- Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong coaching, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to use CRM systems, manage a pipeline, and analyze sales activity.
- Organized, self‑motivated, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
