What do Pest Control Technicians do?
The primary purpose of this role is to perform industry leading pest management services for residential customers. You will identify and eliminate pests from residential properties by inspecting, determining infestations, applying treatments, and providing preventive measures while adhering to safety regulations and communicating with clients.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
- Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards.
- Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest‑free environment, providing advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations.
- Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, help with sales to current customers, and expand our product base to new customers.
- Ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.
- Drive and safely operate a company‑provided service vehicle (routine maintenance provided).
- Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
- Work around animals, insects and termites.
- Handle mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, heights and scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals, with training on safety.
- Work both inside and outside in the local climate wearing company‑provided weather gear.
- Move frequently – sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Wear personal protective equipment, such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator.
- Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal the face).
- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence.
- Licenses/certificates required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us).
- Available to work Monday‑Friday and weekends as needed.
- Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control.
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills – ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
- Customer‑facing experience preferred.
