We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Westgate Apartments and Townhomes property in Manassas. The work of The Caton Companies is work that matters to our communities and to society. A Maintenance Technician is the unsung hero who resolves issues such as broken appliances, plumbing failures, and HVAC faults, ensuring residents have a comfortable living environment.
Compensation – $28.00 per hour or more, based on experience.
HVAC Certification – Required or obtained within 120 days of employment.
Job Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance skills in HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and carpentry.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure proper building upkeep.
- Complete required paperwork daily.
- Communicate with supervisors and residents.
- Use telephone and maintain public relations.
- Provide own tools and use private vehicle as necessary.
This is a full‑time position. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with an hour for lunch. Hours may vary with workload. Weekend hours possible as weather demands. Rotating on‑call shifts are required.
Required Education And Experience- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least three years of prior apartment maintenance staff experience or equivalent work experience.
- HVAC certification required.

Employment is conditional upon satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment requirements, including background and drug screening. Starting salary depends upon prior work skills and experience.
