Crew Leader - Wet Utility, Richmond Area

Title: Utility Foreman

Type: Full time, non-exempt

Location: Job Site

Reports To: Superintendents & Project Managers

Schedule: Monday – Friday, some Saturdays

• Excavate trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
• Install trench boxes as necessary
• Operate equipment in compliance with safety policies and OSHA procedures
• Ensure proper excavation and compaction procedures are performed
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections and required greasing
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job
• Manage quality control and production
• Train team members in a hands‑on manner

• Ability to communicate directly with clients
• Minimum 1 year of experience in wet utility work
• Proficient operation of large excavators with precision
• Valid driver's license
• Work in confined spaces
• Access secured facilities
• High attention to detail

• Fit for heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, use hands for manipulation, and communicate verbally
• Capable of walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and crawling
• Visual abilities: distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
