Reyes Fleet Management, one of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Trainee / Fleet Technician Trainee to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer and tractor equipment at our Martin Brower shop in Manassas, VA.

Shift: Full-time (Wednesday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm). Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Position Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, and complete routine maintenance of fleet equipment accurately.
  • Complete documentation for repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records in the online Asset Works system.
  • Assist diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Replace defective components as instructed.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment and perform tasks in outdoor settings.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
  • Drive Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management, and customer vehicles as required, adhering to DOT regulations and maintaining a current driver qualification file. CDL holders must undergo DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and be subject to an FMSCA Clearinghouse review.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or Technical School Certification with 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Trade School Diploma or Certification.
