C-Tech / Entry-Level Fleet Technician
AMERI-CANS is looking to hire a full-time C-Tech / Entry-Level Fleet Technician at our location in Manassas, VA. This is an important support role within a rapidly growing portable sanitation company that takes pride in doing things the right way and executing the impossible.
The C-Tech is responsible for assisting with basic repairs, preventive maintenance, shop organization, equipment readiness, and road calls as needed. This position supports the Shop Foreman, A-Techs, and B-Techs while learning proper repair procedures, safety standards, and company equipment.
This role is a good fit for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, willing to learn, and ready to grow within the fleet maintenance department.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting technicians with repairs on trucks, restroom trailers, pumps, generators, and company equipment.
- Performing basic preventive maintenance, including checking fluids, tire pressure, lights, wiper blades, batteries, and grease points.
- Assisting with oil changes, tire replacements, light repairs, battery replacements, and minor mechanical repairs.
- Helping inspect vehicles and trailers for damage, leaks, safety concerns, or needed repairs.
- Assisting with basic restroom trailer repairs, including lighting, plumbing, doors, pumps, hardware, and general maintenance.
- Performing road calls as needed for tire replacement, light repairs, and basic roadside support.
- Helping prepare vehicles, trailers, and equipment for service, inspection, delivery, or deployment.
- Keeping the shop, tools, parts, yard, and work areas clean and organized.
- Reporting equipment defects, safety concerns, accidents, and repair needs to the Shop Foreman.
- Documenting completed work and repair notes as directed.
- Following all company safety procedures and wearing required PPE.
- Safely using hand tools, power tools, jacks, lifts, and shop equipment after proper training.
- Supporting daily shop operations and assisting senior technicians as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Clean and safe driving record preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work indoors, outdoors, in the shop, in the yard, and on road calls.
- Ability to perform tire replacement, light repairs, and basic roadside repairs as needed.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Adherence to a background check.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States of America.
- Some of the job sites that we support may require U.S. citizenship and a clean criminal history to access their sites.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience with trucks, trailers, tires, plumbing, electrical, pumps, generators, or small engines is helpful but not required.
- Previous shop, fleet, construction, mechanical, or equipment maintenance experience is a plus.
- Trade school or technical training is a plus.
Abilities:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, crouch, kneel, climb, and work around vehicles and equipment. The position may require working outdoors in various weather conditions and responding to road calls when needed.
- The employee must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision once trained, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., safely use basic tools and equipment, and follow all safety procedures.
Growth Opportunity:
The C-Tech position is a training and development role with the opportunity to grow into a B-Tech position as skills, reliability, safety awareness, and repair knowledge improve.
