Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Compensation: $110-$120K + Sign on Bonus!
OverviewYou will maintain our expansive fleet so that we can continue providing quality environmental services to our community. Every day, you will organize your work orders based on priority, critically analyze each issue, and independently troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment. To thrive in this shop, you must have experience working with heavy duty equipment and diesel trucks, can be a creative and independent problem-solver, and be eager to learn and grow with the company.
Responsibilities- Analyzing and diagnosing (troubleshooting) equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Executing essential repairs on gas and diesel engines, transmissions, electrical and electronic systems, brakes, hydraulic systems, suspensions, steering, fuel systems.
- Performing preventative maintenance, inspection, and correction of major and minor repairs on various equipment (with occasional welding & fabrication). Completing Federal DOT inspections on commercial vehicles.
- 3+ years of experience with heavy equipment
- 5 years as a diesel mechanic
- 5+ years' experience with Dealer Level Training in Paccar, Cummins and or Detroit
- Proficient in using computer systems & applications to accomplish daily tasks
- 5+ years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks
- Positive and motivated self-starter
- Curious and independent problem-solver
- Eager to learn and grow with a company dedicated to your development
- Ability to perform PM inspections and repairs on heavy duty trucks, transmissions, Hydraulics, brakes, Electrical and Diesel Emissions.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working at heights
- Standing and moving for extended periods; operating vehicles across varied terrain
- Perceiving auditory safety signals, verbal warnings, and radio communications in active field environments
- Wearing all required PPE including OSHA-compliant respirators, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and safety footwear.
