Diesel Reefer Technician

Ryder System is hiring a Diesel Reefer Technician to maintain and repair refrigerated trailers, diesel engines, and related transport refrigeration systems. In this hands-on role, you'll perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs to keep customer fleets safe, compliant, and on the road. You'll use computerized diagnostic tools, read technical manuals, complete work orders, and maintain accurate service records. Working in a safety-first, team-focused shop, you'll collaborate with drivers and dispatch to minimize downtime and support Ryder's high service standards while growing your skills through training and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, reefer units, and related trailer systems
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on refrigerated trailers and fleet equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, braking, and suspension issues using diagnostic tools
• Respond to road calls and breakdowns to minimize customer downtime
• Document work performed, parts used, and inspections in maintenance systems
• Ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and environmental regulations
• Collaborate with drivers, dispatch, and operations to prioritize repairs
• Maintain shop tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work area
• Support continuous improvement and follow Ryder's safety-first procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical training and certifications
