Night Shift Maintenance Shop Foreman

Waste Connections seeks a Night Shift Maintenance Shop Foreman to lead our transportation fleet maintenance team. In this on-site role, you will supervise night shift technicians, assign and review repair work, and ensure safe, efficient servicing of trucks and heavy equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, overseeing preventive maintenance, maintaining parts inventory, and enforcing safety and environmental standards.

You will coordinate with operations to maximize equipment uptime while mentoring technicians and supporting a performance-driven, safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise night shift maintenance technicians in the shop
• Assign, review, and prioritize repair and preventive maintenance work orders
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on trucks and heavy equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and company standards
• Maintain accurate records in maintenance systems and logs
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for timely supply
• Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability
• Train, coach, and mentor technicians to support skill growth and performance
• Conduct safety inspections and promote a strong safety culture
• Support continuous improvement in shop processes and maintenance practices
