Job Coach/Career Counselor (Pre-ETS and Adult Vocational Rehab)

What you can expect working with our People First Services team:
- No billable requirements to meet.
- Flexibility in your schedule—choose the number of students and schools you work with, and decide how many hours you work.
- BOTH travel time and administrative time are billable.
- Work with a company founded by an experienced Career Counselor and Behavior Specialist, where mentorship and training are a focal point of our program.
- Our primary customer is DARS (Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services), with a focus on services for transitioning students. The administrative demands are low, and we welcome creativity and innovation.
- This position can be either part-time or full-time .
- Full time partners can expect to earn $82,560-$121,776 annually.
- There is an opportunity to earn bonuses equivalent to a paid week off every 6 months.
As a Job Coach/Career Counselor, you will provide services and support such as:
- Individualized Approach:
Tailor your coaching to meet the unique needs, abilities, and goals of each client. Develop personalized plans that foster career growth and align with the client’s strengths and preferences. - Partnership Development:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with community employers to source new leads and create sustainable work experiences for diverse candidates. - Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with a team that may include parents, educators, transition specialists, employers, and rehabilitation counselors. Ensure that all parties are aligned in their efforts to support the client’s success. - Real-World Exposure and Skill Development:
Provide students with hands-on experience through job shadows, internships, and workplace visits. Help students develop practical skills, confidence, and an understanding of workplace expectations. - Advocacy and Empowerment:
Advocate for your clients and empower them to become self-reliant. Encourage their growth by helping them understand their rights, build confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills. - Exceptional Time Management:
Manage your own schedule and appointments effectively. Organize team meetings with all relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for the client.
- Primary work locations are Manassas, Gainesville and Fairfax.
- You will need to travel to schools and worksites within the service area.
- This is not a remote position, and travel time is reimbursed at the full rate.
- Part-time or Full-time hours are an option, and hours may vary depending on caseload.
- Evening hours are likely, with a possibility of weekend hours. However, you have control over your schedule.
- Experience or credentials related to job coaching, skills training, career counseling, or a similar field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude, strong character, and a willingness to learn are more important than experience.
This position is for a 1099 contractor; it is not traditional employment. Candidate selected will be required to undergo a state background check, as well as a Central Registry Search with the Department of Social Services.
