Software Engineer; Storage Architect

Overview

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Software Engineer. The work involves software development tasks supporting Navy programs. The candidate should have experience with coding in C++, gRPC, publish/subscribe (pub/sub) design patterns, AMQP or other broker-based messaging protocols, and the Linux operating system.

This position is located at a facility that may require special access, and the selected candidate will be required to hold an active government Secret security clearance.

In this role, you will perform software development tasks supporting Navy programs. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of coding in C++, gRPC, publish/subscribe (pub/sub) design patterns, AMQP or other broker-based messaging protocols, and the Linux operating system.

• Develop software solutions with a strong background in Java development, object oriented design, and design patterns.
• Optimize existing storage architectures and design databases, with experience in FOSS storage solutions.
• Work with Object Broker / Pub Sub communication patterns such as CORBA and gRPC.
• Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting.

• Generally 8+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Familiarity with software-defined storage technologies such as RookFS and CEPH
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and Helm Charts
• Familiarity with software pipeline automation tools like Gradle
• Familiarity with configuration technologies like JSON and YAML
