Role Overview
As a Delivery Manager (Chapter Lead) at Swift, you will build and manage a high‑performing team of software and test engineers, coach and develop your chapter members, and organise resource allocation across squads. You will also contribute hands‑on to squad work, maintaining technical expertise and people‑management skills.
Chapter Focus Area – Messaging Tribe, Cluster:
Swift’s critical FIN and RMA services. You will lead a team of experts focused on the design, development, and evolution of FIN components, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance within the global financial ecosystem.

Responsibilities- Select and recruit squad members with the required skills.
- Work with Product Owners and Engineering Lead to assign chapter members to squads.
- Coach chapter members on best practices and software design patterns.
- Ensure consistency of knowledge across software components, technologies (C++, Java, Python, PLSQL, cryptography, middleware, databases).
- Promote a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Set up knowledge sharing and cross‑tribe collaboration.
- Develop and implement development programs to fill identified gaps.
- Maintain expertise in current technologies, programming practices, and future trends.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring they are consulted and informed.
- Ensure chapter members understand relevant IT policies and standards.
- Set annual objectives and conduct mid‑year and year‑end performance reviews.
- Collect feedback from Product Owners, Agile Coaches, squad members, and stakeholders to assess development needs.
- Perform administrative reviews and approvals for chapter members.
- Spend part of your time contributing to squad objectives: attend meetings, review solutions and test cases, code, review peers, test, automate, support production, and participate in on‑call rotations.
- Offer senior expertise within the squad to mentor new members.
- University degree in computer science or a related field.
- More than 14 years of experience in systems development, with at least 8 years in a team‑leader role.
- Experience leading initiatives with significant cluster or organisational impact.
- Takes accountability for delivering results under pressure and uncertainty.
- Demonstrates operational excellence, driving continuous improvement.
- Champions cross‑functional learning and knowledge sharing.
- Applies commercial understanding to enhance business offerings.
- Builds and reinforces customer relationships with a focus on integrity.
- Leads with a team focus, promotes diversity, and motivates team members.
- Communicates effectively across multilingual environments.
The estimated salary range for this position in Virginia is $ USD to $ USD annually, based on experience, skills, and location. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity contingent on performance.
