The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer. In this role, you will perform software development tasks supporting Navy programs. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of coding in C++, gRPC, publish/subscribe (pub/sub) design patterns, AMQP or other broker‑based messaging protocols, and the Linux Operating System.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access, and the selected candidate will be required to hold an active government Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Generally has 8+ years of related experience and may have a post‑secondary degree or training in a related discipline. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong background in Java development, object‑oriented design, and design patterns.
- Experience with FOSS storage solutions, database design, and optimization of existing storage architectures.
- Experience with Object Broker / Pub Sub communication patterns such as CORBA and gRPC.
- Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with software‑defined storage technologies such as RookFS and CEPH.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and Helm Charts.
- Familiarity with software pipeline automation tools like Gradle.
- Familiarity with configuration technologies such as JSON and YAML.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance level:
Secret.
- Full‑time, on‑site at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
- Schedule:
4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules for additional flexibility.
