Job Summary
Swift is the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services. We are looking for a Junior Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust applications across both front‑end and back‑end technologies to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement new user‑facing features using modern front‑end frameworks and libraries.
- Design, develop, and maintain server‑side logic, databases, and APIs.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
- Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry trends, including usage of AI tools such as Windsurf and Microsoft Copilot.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in at least one back‑end Object‑Oriented Programming language such as C++, JAVA, or Python.
- Strong understanding and hands‑on development experience in frameworks and build tools such as Springboot, Maven, CMake.
- Hands‑on experience with relational databases (e.g., ORACLE, Postgre
SQL, MySQL) and/or No
SQL databases (e.g., Mongo
DB). - Familiarity with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture and containerization using Podman or Docker.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Quick and enthusiastic learner with an intent to adopt the latest AI tools and technologies and think innovatively.
The estimated salary range for this position in Virginia is $66,960 to $124,354 per year. Salary may vary depending on job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity contingent on personal and company performance.
