Duration: 12+ month contract (extension likely)
Pay Rate:

• $65-70/hr (W2)
• $75-80/hr (C2C)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a high-impact team focused on building secure, high-quality applications in the payments tracking and preparation space. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and test new features with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
• Build robust backend systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver solutions
• Conduct code reviews and uphold best practices for coding standards and security
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
• Participate in all SDLC phases: planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and quality
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with the team
• Provide input on technical feasibility, estimates, and system design decisions

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with performance tuning and debugging
• Understanding of secure coding practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working in payments, financial services, or transaction systems
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
• Experience using AI development tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
