Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer at our Manassas, VA campus. The role focuses on development of software to support Navy programs using C++, gRPC, publish/subscribe design patterns, AMQP or other broker‑based messaging protocols, and the Linux operating system.
The position requires a government Secret clearance and a U.S. citizen status. It is located at a facility that requires special access.
Key Responsibilities- Perform software development tasks supporting Navy programs.
- Develop and maintain code in C++ and related technologies.
- Design and implement publish/subscribe patterns and broker‑based messaging.
- Utilize Linux operating system for development and deployment.
- 3—5+ years of related experience, or equivalent post‑secondary education.
- Strong background in Java development, object‑oriented design, and design patterns.
- Experience with FOSS storage solutions such as Rook CEPH, Mayastor, Longhorn, Net App Trident.
- Familiarity with Linux OS, command line, and shell scripting.
- Secret clearance eligibility required, interim Secret clearance at start.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and Helm Charts.
- Experience with Object Broker / Pub Sub communication patterns such as CORBA and gRPC.
- Experience with software pipeline automation tools like Gradle.
- Familiarity with configuration technologies such as JSON and YAML.
- Experience with Git Lab.
Government Secret clearance required. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
Work Schedules4x10‑hour day, 3 days off per week. Part‑time remote telework is part of the schedule.
