The Work

This position is for a Cyber Software Engineer to perform software development duties with an emphasis on executing Cyber design, development, and troubleshooting tasks in the Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) Integrated Engineering organization, located in Manassas, Virginia.

Key responsibilities include:

• Consulting with and building new security architectures across a large and critical Department of Defense system of systems.
• Providing Cyber engineering expertise in diverse technical assignments such as supporting technical reviews, partnering on new architecture efforts to ensure Cyber Zero Trust standards, and product engineering.
• Applying an entrepreneurial approach in communication, imagination, and leadership to drive the Cyber group’s initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with C++ and/or Java development, ideally with parallelization techniques, performance optimization, and networking.
• Experience developing containerized applications.
• Knowledge of running and managing containers on Linux distributions.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture.

Desired Skills

• Knowledgeable of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience managing application life cycles using Helm.
• Experience developing applications for and debugging directly on Kubernetes (vs AWS, Open Shift, etc.).
• Experience with network reconnaissance techniques, network traffic analysis, deep packet inspection.
• Experience with Boost ASIO, gRPC, PCAP++.
• Experience analyzing and securing embedded devices.

Remote Work

• Part‑time remote telework: the employee selected for this position will work part of the schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility; the specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules

• Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility, including 4×10‑hour days with 3 days off per week.
