Software Integration Engineer
- Manassas, VA
The Software Integrator is responsible for integrating, validating, and deploying mission-critical software components across development, test, and operational environments. This role ensures reliable interoperability among C++, Python, and Java services and supports the continuous evolution of system-level capabilities within Linux-based environments.
Education & Background- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Related technical discipline
- Strong foundation in operating systems, software architecture, and distributed systems.
- Integrate software components developed in C++, Python, and Java into cohesive system builds on various Linux operating systems.
- Develop and maintain integration workflows, build configurations, and deployment scripts using modern configuration management systems.
- Lead system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting across multi-language environments
- Ensure reliable communication interfaces between services (APIs, data formats, messaging), using industry standards.
- Collaborate with software developers to resolve integration issues and optimize system performance in high compute environment.
- Manage Linux-based test and integration environments
- Analyze logs, system behavior, and performance metrics to verify component compatibility
- Document integration procedures, interface specifications, system behavior, and best practices.
- Strong, hands-on experience with:
- C++, Python, and Java development workflows
- Linux operating system (system administration, shell tools, debugging)
- Familiarity with:
- Software build systems (CMake, Make, Gradle, Maven, or equivalents)
- CI/CD pipelines for multi-language software integration, containerization, artifactory deployment, rpm generation, micro service creation and maintenance of all connected pipelines.
- Understanding of distributed system communication patterns (REST, gRPC, sockets, messaging, protobuf)
- Experience with automated testing, logging, and monitoring tools is a plus
- Systems-level thinker with strong analytical and troubleshooting instincts
- Comfortable integrating complex software components across multiple languages and environments
- Disciplined approach to testing, verification, and reliability
- Able to work independently while communicating clearly with developers and program teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Must be able to work and travel at multiple locations within the NOVA area.
