Position: Secretary 2 (Hybrid) - #260205-7539CL-001
Introduction

Are you a current State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) employee who has three (3) years of experience above the routine clerk level in office support or secretarial work and one (1) year of experience as a Secretary 1 or its equivalent? The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) is recruiting a Secretary 2 located in Manchester, CT.

Position Highlights:

* Full-time, 40 hours per week

* First (1st) shift

* Monday - Friday

* 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

* The first shift hours will be based on operational needs and will include non-standard start and end times, holidays, and weekends.

* Eligible for telework after successful completion of the working test period.

In your role as a Secretary 2, you will have the opportunity to:

* Utilize computers, tablets, and other electronic equipment, formats and types a full range of correspondence, reports, bills, drafts, etc. from rough draft, transcription, dictated notes, etc.;

* Proofread for content;

* Design office filing systems;

* Greet and direct visitors;

* Answer phones and screen incoming calls;

* Provide advice to callers regarding policy and procedures (e.g., citing a regulation to solve a specific problem);

* Arrange and coordinate meetings (including space and equipment);

* Research, assemble and coordinate meeting materials (e.g., charts, graphs, reports);

* Write minutes of meetings, lectures, conferences, etc. from rough draft;

* Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment;

* Order supplies when necessary;

* Perform related duties as assigned.
