Primary

Purpose:

Lead and facilitate full‑time sanitation crew and participate in the sanitation of the distribution facility.

• Act as department supervisor in his/her absence.
• Help plan, organize, delegate and follow up with associates’ job duties.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure all areas of responsibility run in a safe, orderly, effective manner.
• Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates.
• Perform own sanitation tasks while ensuring crew tasks are accomplished to standard.
• Train sanitation associates and subcontracted crew on sanitation tasks.
• Ensure crew understand and follow safe work practices.
• Responsible for OSHA compliance and regulations.
• Maintain sanitation supply inventory.
• Provide research and advise management on equipment and supply purchases.
• Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on cleaning equipment.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting the work group or distribution center to maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in accuracy, safety and productivity.

• Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Must be able to work the required schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Proficient in using a personal computer for data entry and research purposes.
• Highly motivated self‑starter and team player with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

• Reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).

• High School education.
• Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment preferred.
• Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills.
• Demonstrated effective and successful leadership skills.
