Job Description:
Long Term Substitute Teacher - Grade 3
The 3rd grade position will be from April 9 (subject to change) through the end of the school year.
Odyssey is searching for a 3rd grade long term substitute to join our dedicated and creative teaching team at Odyssey Community School, a 417 student public school for learners in grades PK - 8 in Manchester, CT. Odyssey is the first Connecticut public charter school with a distinguished history of excellence, outstanding student performance, and a learning community committed to meaningful core values.
Odyssey's vibrant educational community is an ideal work environment for a teacher who is creative, flexible, and who will work collaboratively with a group of dedicated staff and students who have enrolled in Odyssey as a school of choice. We offer an early release for students each Friday to allow for weekly professional learning opportunities for all staff. In addition, our class sizes are no more than 20 students allowing for more individualized attention and support.

Duties and
Responsibilities include:
* Plan and deliver daily instruction in all core subjects following the Grade level curriculum and established pacing.
* Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that supports student learning and engagement.
* Differentiate instruction and provide support for diverse learners, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English learner needs.
* Monitor student progress, administer assessments, and maintain necessary records during the assignment.
* Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff while fulfilling all professional duties and school expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Teaching certification preferred
* A Bachelor's Degree is required and experience working with children or state waiver (school will help with this process)
* Availability from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday - Friday
* Strong communication and classroom management skills
* Anticipated start date of April 9 (subject to change) through the end of the school year in June 2026.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Recent graduates with pending certifications are welcome to apply.
* Applicants holding current teaching certification, $175 - $200/day depending on experience
Applicants will be required to be hired through ESS for this position after interviewing with building administration.
