Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Neon Aero, we're developing the next generation of propellers, rotors, and flight systems by combining aerospace engineering with advanced manufacturing, automation, and AI-driven design tools. We're building faster, moving with urgency, and challenging the traditional aerospace development model.

We're looking for a Manager, Propeller Product Design to lead a small team of exceptional engineers responsible for designing and delivering propeller systems from early concept through certification and production. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced product development environments, enjoys solving difficult technical challenges, and wants to help shape the future of flight.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and certification of advanced propeller systems.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers.
  • Drive products from concept, analysis, and testing through manufacturing release.
  • Make critical technical decisions while balancing performance, schedule, cost, and certification requirements.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, testing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for engineering rigor, execution, and product quality.
  • Support certification activities and technical engagement with regulatory authorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience developing mechanical or aerospace products from concept through production.
  • Experience leading engineers or technical teams in demanding development environments.
  • Strong background in mechanical design, analysis, product development, and manufacturing introduction.
  • Experience with CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, structural substantiation, and engineering review processes.
  • Understanding of aerospace certification practices and requirements.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with propellers, rotors, eVTOL, rotorcraft, propulsion systems, or other rotating machinery.
  • FAA certification and qualification experience.
  • Experience transitioning aerospace hardware into production.
  • Experience working within organizations known for technical excellence and rapid execution.
Why Neon Aero?
  • Build flight-critical hardware that will define the next generation of aerospace systems.
  • Lead a highly capable team with significant ownership and autonomy.
  • Work at the intersection of aerospace, advanced manufacturing, automation, and AI-driven engineering.
  • Join a company that values speed, technical excellence, and ambitious problem-solving.

If you're excited by complex engineering challenges and want to build hardware that flies, we'd love to hear from you.
