At Neon Aero, we're developing the next generation of propellers, rotors, and flight systems by combining aerospace engineering with advanced manufacturing, automation, and AI-driven design tools. We're looking for a Manager, Propeller Product Design to lead a small team of exceptional engineers responsible for designing and delivering propeller systems from early concept through certification and production. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced product development environments, enjoys solving difficult technical challenges, and wants to help shape the future of flight.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and certification of advanced propeller systems.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers.
- Drive products from concept, analysis, and testing through manufacturing release.
- Make critical technical decisions while balancing performance, schedule, cost, and certification requirements.
- Partner closely with manufacturing, testing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Establish and maintain high standards for engineering rigor, execution, and product quality.
- Support certification activities and technical engagement with regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience developing mechanical or aerospace products from concept through production.
- Experience leading engineers or technical teams in demanding development environments.
- Strong background in mechanical design, analysis, product development, and manufacturing introduction.
- Experience with CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, structural substantiation, and engineering review processes.
- Understanding of aerospace certification practices and requirements.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
- Experience with propellers, rotors, eVTOL, rotorcraft, propulsion systems, or other rotating machinery.
- FAA certification and qualification experience.
- Experience transitioning aerospace hardware into production.
- Experience working within organizations known for technical excellence and rapid execution.
- Build flight-critical hardware that will define the next generation of aerospace systems.
- Lead a highly capable team with significant ownership and autonomy.
- Work at the intersection of aerospace, advanced manufacturing, automation, and AI-driven engineering.
