Durez Corporation, a leader in thermoset molding compounds and phenolic resins, seeks a Project Engineer to drive plant and process improvements in a high performance plastics manufacturing environment. The Project Engineer will lead technical projects focused on safety, quality, reliability, and cost reduction, collaborating closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams. Responsibilities include troubleshooting process issues, supporting new product scale-up, managing capital and improvement projects, and documenting procedures.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced materials used in automotive, electrical, and industrial applications within a stable, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage manufacturing-related engineering projects from concept through implementation to support thermoset molding compounds and phenolic resin production
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with production, maintenance, and quality to improve process reliability, safety, and product quality
  • Analyze plant performance data to identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support scale-up and commercialization of new or modified materials, documenting process parameters and operating procedures
  • Prepare technical reports, project plans, and equipment specifications for capital and process improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in all project activities
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues on the production floor and recommend engineered solutions
  • Collaborate with global engineering and technical teams to share best practices and standardize processes
