Lab, Medical Lab Specialist, Manchester, Connecticut Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests (microscopic, bacteriological, hematological, immunologic).
• Collect, prepare and store specimens.
• Forward test results to physicians.
• Keep accurate records.
• Explain procedures to patients.
• Prepare lab reagents.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Maintain safe working environment.

• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification from ASCP or AMT required.
• CPR/BLS certification.

• Associate degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• OR high school diploma with 3+ months documented full-time laboratory training per discipline.
• 3+ months to 1 year acceptable clinical lab experience.
• Experience in required areas (chemistry, hematology, microbiology).
