Salary

$100,000 - $125,000. Actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including education, work experience, and, in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, including the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, employee relations, training and development, compensation and diversity/equality/inclusion.

Essential Functions
  • Training and Development – Works closely with supervisors in adhering to agency policy regarding employee trainings and in‑services. Implements and maintains best practices for employee development, internal trainings, and professional growth programs.
  • Compliance – Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal HR related regulations and standards as well as agency policies. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel information. Represents the company in legal matters. Handles due process with staff disciplinary action and terminations.
  • Recruitment – Develops recruiting and retention plans to meet the agency needs. Oversees the complete recruitment process including job advertisement, applicant tracking, extending job offers, conducting background checks. Develops and maintains university relationships with colleges to ensure Root Center is linked to talent pipelines aligned to our organization’s focus. Oversees internship program and onboarding for all interns and new hires.
  • Workforce Development – In coordination with the Executive Leadership Team, participates in planning and development of the organization’s 3‑year strategic plan. Manages agency‑wide orientation for all new personnel. Develops and manages employee compensation plans that are competitive and cost‑effective. Develops and maintains a work health and safety program for all staff in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Ensures staff adhere to and maintain the vision and values of the agency as outlined in its policies and procedures.
  • Diversity, Equality, Inclusion – Develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster diversity, equality and inclusion. Assess and analyze current policies and practices to ensure support of diversity goals.
Minimum Qualification Requirements

A Baccalaureate Degree in Human Resources, management, or related field. Master’s Degree or PHR/SPHR highly desirable. 6+ years in progressively responsible HR leadership roles, preferably in a non‑profit, healthcare setting. Must have a vast knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to HR and the ability to develop agency policies accordingly and to successfully disseminate this information to staff as appropriate.

Strong leadership and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively. Efficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to work autonomously and to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with staff and business partners.
