Job Description & How to Apply Below

Aerospace is at a turning point — costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can't keep up. At Neon Aero, we're breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.

Here, you won't just take a job — you'll help reinvent how the world flies. If you're ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Neon's Manchester facility is where engineering meets production—and we're looking for an IT Operations Administrator who loves being right in the middle of it. You'll be the go-to on-site IT partner for employees in a fast-paced engineering + manufacturing environment, while also owning key pieces of our hybrid infrastructure and enterprise business systems across Neon.

If you enjoy solving real-world issues on the floor and being the admin who keeps core systems humming behind the scenes, this role is built for you.

Why This Role Matters:

You'll keep Neon running—both day-to-day employee productivity and the systems that power engineering, manufacturing, and business data flow.

Systems Administration
  • Support, administer, maintain, and monitor cloud systems and services alongside on-prem IT and OT Manufacturing Systems.
  • Provide day-to-day administration of company wide enterprise systems (ERP, MES, PLM): user access, roles/permissions, configuration support, and issue triage.
  • Maintain system administration documentation (role mappings, configuration notes, change logs, and support runbooks) and follow change/control practices—sharing knowledge with teammates to enable consistent support.
  • Partner with senior IT engineers, vendors, and supporting MSPs on infrastructure improvements, automation, migrations, and standardization efforts across the environment.
  • Support compliance efforts surrounding NIST 800-171 (e.g., following policies, implementing controls) in collaboration with security consultants and senior staff.
Site Support
  • Serve as the on-site IT point of contact at our Manchester facility—resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues, with escalation paths to the broader IT team and partners for complex issues.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding: workstation setup, device provisioning, account creation/disablement, access requests, and end-user orientation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate ticketing, asset tracking, and documentation; develop and improve SOPs/runbooks for repeatable tasks.
  • Perform minor hardware repairs and coordinate warranty/vendor repair processes; elevate complex issues with clear handoffs and captured troubleshooting data.
What you'll Bring:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years in progressive IT roles (helpdesk + systems/infrastructure responsibilities), ideally supporting both office and shop‑floor environments with a specialization in cloud technologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production environments is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with some combination of:
  • Cloud:
Azure based systems including scripting the deployment of resources.
  • Virtualization:
Hyper‑V, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktops
  • Networking/Security:
    Cloud or on‑prem environments
  • Windows environment:
Windows 10/11 Endpoints and Windows Server administration, patching, troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting or administering one or more enterprise applications (ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, etc.)—including permissions, workflows/configuration, upgrades, vendor support, and issue triage.
  • Strong documentation habits (procedures, diagrams, change notes) and comfort owning systems end‑to‑end.
  • Ability to handle many issues independently while knowing when to escalation—and how to provide clean handoffs.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with solid communication, prioritization, and follow‑through.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and…
