The Aerospace Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities and performance of the manufacturing operations team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and standards. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and hands‑on execution to drive productivity and achieve operational goals. Aerospace Operations Supervisors must be adept at troubleshooting issues, optimizing processes, and leading their teams towards continuous improvement.
Responsibilities& Duties
- Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Monitor and manage team performance to meet productivity targets
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations
- Develop and execute operational plans and strategies
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing training
- Prepare and analyze operational reports to inform decision‑making
- Maintain inventory control and ensure adequate supplies
- Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively
- Foster a positive and productive work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field, desired.
- 5–8 years in operations/manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace & defense)
- Proven track record leading machining and complex assembly operations, in aerospace.
- Deep knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, and DOD/MIL requirements.
- Experience scaling production to support high‑growth programs.
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Good understanding of safety practices and compliance standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with process improvement and lean principles
- Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems and operational software
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with industry‑specific regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
- Strong understanding of operational best practices and methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
