Position: Production Lead (FBC SGV Cell)
The Production Lead supports the Value Stream Leader by managing daily production activities, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and collaborative work environment. The expectation for this position is to service ACMT’s customers as well as the company’s business requirements. This role is critical to meeting customer expectations, driving continuous improvement, and aligning team performance with the value stream’s strategic goals.
1. Safety and Compliance:

Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across the team.

Conduct safety inspections and ensure proper use of machinery and protective equipment.

Ensure team compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Ensure all production associate preventive maintenance activities are complied

Ensure all tools and gauges in the area are properly calibrated for associate use Ensure all associates are following proper OMS procedures
2. Production Oversight:

Assist the Value Stream Leader in executing production plans and meeting operational goals.

Oversee production activities within the value stream to ensure schedule adherence, quality standards, and cost efficiency.

Monitor key metrics such as on time delivery, first pass yield, and resource levels, taking corrective action when targets are not met.
3. Team Leadership:

Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to production team members.

Ensure team alignment with value stream goals and company objectives.

Address and resolve production-related issues in coordination with the Value Stream Leader.

Cross train team members to ensure no single points of failure

Review and approve EPICOR timecards for production associates

Work with Value Stream Leader to ensure all required trainings are completed on time
4. Quality Assurance:

Partner with Quality teams to uphold aerospace standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).Address and resolve non-conformance issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.

Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement within the team.

Perform spot audits within the department and cross audit other areas
5. Continuous Improvement:

Support the Value Stream Leader in identifying and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and eliminate bottlenecks.

Lead tactical projects or initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and employee engagement within the value stream.
6. Working Lead Actively participate in hands-on production tasks, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of machinery as required to meet production goals.

Step in to operate equipment or perform critical tasks during peak demand, staff shortages, or in training scenarios.

Serve as a technical resource for resolving equipment or process-related issues on the production floor.

Act as a role model by demonstrating best practices in equipment handling, tool usage, and process efficiency.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality systems.

Proven leadership skills with a focus on team motivation, development, and performance improvement.

Hands-on technical experience with manufacturing equipment and tools.

Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.

Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling tools.

Commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
