Position: Aircraft Quality Inspector - AH-64

The AH-64 Quality Inspector will be responsible for providing full on-site maintenance flight/functional Check Flight Operations to support the US Army Flight Test Directorate (AFTD) at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The support will be conducted in accordance with current Army directives, including but not limited to AR 95-1 and AR 95-20. Areas of support include completion of all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and management of internal contractor pilot and non‑rated crew member flight records.

This is to ensure all aircraft, aircraft component and shop inspections and tasks performed are compliant with the Yulista Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures as well as all applicable/approved technical data. Perform visual and physical evaluations, testing and control of parts, products and raw materials to ensure conformity to established specifications and applicable standards of quality. Provide technical assistance when needed to determine the correct course of action to resolve maintenance problems.

Duties
  • Implement quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect all phases of a variety of goods, services or operations for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards.
  • Ensure all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed satisfactorily.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
  • Communicate deficiencies to proper personnel and follow up to ensure corrections are made.
  • Accurately key data into databases.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff, including interactions with other crew members.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document results of all inspections.
  • Maintain accurate quality control files.
  • May be required to perform additional duties to meet ongoing organizational needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in management, production management, aviation maintenance, professional aeronautics with technical specializations or aviation quality is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Army rotary‑wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations is highly desired.
  • Verifiable experience applying aircraft maintenance techniques and quality‑control functions, including automated TAMMS‑A.
  • Minimum of two years of experience related to developmental flight testing is preferred.
  • Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned to AFTD.
  • Graduated from BNOCC (ALC) or equivalent Technical Inspector Course from other services in the Armed Forces.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ Army Aviation maintenance experience.
  • Must have completed a military aircraft repairer school for any of the following aircraft: AH‑64A/D/E.
  • Three or more years of Army Aviation maintenance quality‑control experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • At least two years of experience related to developmental flight testing.
  • FAA A&P License required.
  • Working knowledge of ACN and all associated historical forms (e.g., 2408‑15, 2408‑16, 16‑1, 2408‑17, DA 2410).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn additional computer skills/software programs.
