Our client, an established and respected name in the industrial weighing industry, is seeking a Heavy Capacity Scale Technician to join their growing team in Manchester, CT.

- Compensation: $26–$28/hr, based on experience

In this role, you'll perform calibrations, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs on truck scales and batch plants across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. You'll work hands-on with hand tools, electrical wiring, and load cell systems, helping keep critical industrial equipment running accurately and reliably for a loyal client base. This is a great opportunity to step into a niche, in-demand trade with direct mentorship from an experienced owner-operator who's ready to train the right person to take on the bulk of the technical work.
Responsibilities include:- Performing calibrations on truck scales and batch plants
- Completing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on scales and batch plant equipment
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including load cell wiring
- Traveling to job sites throughout CT, MA, and RI (up to approximately 300 miles/day) in a company-provided vehicle
- Reporting to the Manchester, CT office as needed and working directly with the owner to build technical expertise over time
- Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM typical, with occasional evenings (5-6 PM) depending on job length
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on automotive or mechanical repair experience or direct weighing-industry experience also welcome
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and problem-solving instincts
- Proficiency with hand tools including combination wrenches, ratchets/sockets, right angle grinders, and impact guns
- Basic electrical/wiring experience, including comfort using a multimeter
- Reliable, dependable, and ready to work
- Ability to pass a Connecticut state judicial background check and a drug test
