This position is for a Senior Industrial Engineer at our Manchester, Iowa manufacturing location. The role plans, designs, and executes activities related to the physical creation of RTX products and the functional operation of RTX facilities. You will evaluate and solve everyday manufacturing problems related to design, manufacturing processes, and supplier issues. The site is heavily involved in the manufacture of electronic assemblies.
What You Will Do:- Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for products and provide assistance and training support to technicians and operators.
- Plan sequence of operations, procedures, and standard work documentation for the manufacturing environment.
- Create and maintain Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for assigned products.
- Recommend engineering solutions for design problems and coordinate implementation with Program Office and Design Engineering.
- Support evaluation of production and design changes.
- Analyze and develop justification for capital equipment using cost/payback analysis.
- Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate equipment needs; identify new approaches to reduce staffing and capital requirements.
- Assist in eliminating/reducing defects and improving yields; perform root cause analysis and take corrective action.
- Lead development of solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with little supervision.
- Lead Kaizen and lean event activities.
- Implement and maintain methods and processes for manufacturing complex sub-assembly and top-level designs.
- Maintain documentation in current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all product and process changes; resolve conflicts in documentation and process definition.
- Develop complete knowledge of machines and tools necessary to build, rework, and repair products.
- Support producibility projects to reduce support costs.
- Assist facilities engineers with site planning and design of facilities.
- Oversee planning and implementation of capital equipment through production release and continued support.
- Create waivers as needed to support design and production functions.
Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field. Experience may be obtained through job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Eligible for relocation. This is a U.S.
-based role. The salary range for this role is $68,900–$131,100. Benefits eligibility and details are dependent upon the specific business unit and collective bargaining agreement.
