Full‑Time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)
Riverside Medical Group seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospitalist team at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.
Hiring Range$129,000 – $170,000 annually (actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance).
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients.
- Perform patient assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing staff, case managers, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning and transitions of care.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (for ACNP).
- Current or eligible Virginia Nurse Practitioner license.
- National Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current or eligible Virginia Physician Assistant license.
- Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Eligible for Virginia licensure at the time of hire.
- DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred based on practice setting.
- Previous hospital medicine or inpatient clinical experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
