Founded in 1981 by Dr. Tim Sorrells, Manchester Veterinary Services is a long-standing and reputable companion animal practice in Manchester, Maryland. The practice recently completed a 10-year equipment and facility improvement process, and in September 2020 we opened a brand new location three minutes north of the former clinic’s site. With this new expansion and updated equipment, the practice is able to offer a broader range of services to its clients.
Along with routine veterinary work, MVS offers x‑ray, dental, ultrasound, surgery, and therapy laser services, among others. Our fun, tight‑knit team has strong clinical skills in the areas of wellness and dentistry and are excited to welcome new veterinary professionals!

Your Role as Practice ManagerAs Practice Manager, you will partner closely with the Medical Director and regional leadership team to oversee business operations, strengthen team culture, and ensure operational excellence. Your leadership will be key in maintaining a positive, efficient, and inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, train, and retain a high‑performing team
- Foster a culture of communication, accountability, and collaboration
- Lead regular team meetings to drive alignment and shared goals
- Support ongoing staff development and recognition
- Address employee concerns professionally and proactively
Maintain compliance with safety, HR, and workplace protocols
- Manage daily hospital operations to optimize workflow and client experience
- Monitor KPIs and financial performance including payroll, revenue, and inventory
- Collaborate on marketing, client retention, and growth strategies
- Oversee equipment maintenance and practice management software
- Implement and refine standard operating procedures
- Promote continuous improvement and service excellence
- 2+ years of experience in veterinary practice management
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- Financial acumen including budgeting and KPI tracking
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
