APTIM is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in our Solid Waste Engineering Group to support our exciting portfolio of projects. This opening is remote or in our California (Concord), Texas (Dallas), Florida (Tampa or Winter Garden), Ohio (Findlay), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh), or St. Louis, MO locations.

• Facility design and permitting
• Stormwater modeling and management plan development
• Construction oversight
• Operations and maintenance
• Hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations
• Environmental compliance audits

• Conduct field inspections and construction quality assurance (CQA) oversight
• Preparing site plans, grading and drainage plans, pump and piping plans, and conceptual layouts for civil earthworks, landfill grading and construction projects
• Preparing engineering calculations and supporting analyses
  
  Perform groundwater, leachate, stormwater and landfill gas sampling and testing
• Preparing and completing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studies
• Utilizing skills and knowledge to solve complex problems
• Collaborating with other team members
• Coordinating with contractors and clients
• Physical work: the ability to lift 50 pounds will be required
• Possess a "Safety First" work ethic
• Providing other duties as required

• BS/MS Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent sciences.
• Possession Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• Minimum of 6 years experience in multidisciplinary projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Self‑starter and problem solver
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites

• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Landfill / Solid Waste experience
• Possession of 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8‑hour refresher certificate
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, HEC‑RAS, and ArcGIS software
• Knowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projects
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000 annually. Compensation depends on several factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
