Metallurgists are responsible for working with tool steels and alloys in the development of Tablet Compression Tooling and Tablet Press & Encapsulation parts. Metallurgist will provide support to production departments as required to resolve quality issues. They should be able to multitask on a variety of projects and have a working knowledge of tool steels, alloys, coatings, chemical and structural metallurgy to facilitate their work.

• Conducts metallurgical testing on all incoming raw materials.
• Performs failure analysis through destructive & nondestructive testing.
• Provides customers and management with formal reports regarding product defects and/or failures, identifying probable causes and providing recommendations for resolution.
• Perform adhesion testing of electroplating and PVD coatings.
• Operates and maintains a full functional metallurgical laboratory.
• Maintains close collaboration with Management, Technical Service, Engineering, Production & Heat Treat departments.
• Maintains technical and statistical documentation.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have working knowledge of ASTM Standards.
• Should have relative working knowledge of tool steels, powdered metallurgy, carbide materials & ceramics.
• Should be familiar with electroplating and Physical Vapor Deposition coatings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Engineering.
• 1-2 years’ experience.
