Role Overview

The Human Resources Consultant at One Digital designs and administers HR policies, procedures, and programs, supporting employees throughout our clients’ organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides expert advice, counsel, and implementation support on a fractional, interim, or project basis in areas such as HR Policy and Compliance (Handbook), Employment Processing and Onboarding, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, and liaison to Benefits, Payroll, and HR Technology providers across our range of clients.
  • Promotes HR practices and objectives that provide an employee‑oriented, high‑performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity, standards, and goal attainment.
  • Proactively expands HR expertise across all functional areas to serve as a trusted subject matter expert for clients.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with client representatives—including employees, management, vendors, and other partners—to ensure overall client satisfaction and timely resolution of HR matters.
  • Interprets client contracts, manages billable work, tracks and reports time accurately, and identifies supplemental services and opportunities for additional billable work.
  • Demonstrates proven project‑management skills and the ability to multi‑task by managing the moving parts and priorities of multiple clients.
  • Work may be at the client’s site or remotely; some travel will be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office products and a strong understanding of existing and emerging HR and business‑operational technology tools and platforms.
  • Experience using an HRIS system is required; experience in implementing an HRIS system is preferred.
  • A sense of urgency and exceptional oral and written communication skills with a desire to build long, lasting relationships.
  • Strong research, analytical, and project‑management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • The ability to work with a variety of personalities at all levels throughout the firm.
  • The ability to coach employees and management objectively through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Sound judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law.
  • Independent judgment, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
Education, Training and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of HR experience as an HR Generalist or Leader.
  • A blend of both corporate and consulting experience; consulting firm background in accounting/consulting or HR consulting preferred.
  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) strongly preferred.
  • A solid foundation of HR knowledge—employment laws and practices—and the ability to serve as a business partner.
  • Proven experience in leading difficult conversations (terminations, probation, salary reductions, etc.) as well as employee growth and counseling conversations.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other HR programs.
