Position OverviewSign‑on Bonus $5,000
The Electrician is responsible for safely ensuring production machinery and building equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition to prevent interrupted production. The selected person for this job will report directly to the Controls Engineer.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults using testing instruments and analytical methods.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Repair or replace motors, drives, sensors, wiring, controls, and electrical components.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to restore operations quickly and safely.
- Assist operators and technicians with machine adjustments and electrical issues.
- Ensure production equipment operates at optimal performance.
- Install new electrical equipment, power distribution systems, conduits, and wiring.
- Support machinery upgrades, modifications, and automation projects.
- Program, calibrate, or troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA, 70E, and facility safety standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
- Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards or improvement opportunities.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis for recurring equipment issues.
- Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
- Assist with safety audits and support company wide safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
- Communicate issues, repairs, and preventive actions to supervisors and operators.
- Support training of junior electricians or maintenance staff when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Certifications in industrial electricity, controls, or safety are an advantage.
- Manufacturing experience is preferable.
Technical training preferred.
