Job Details
  • Hospital:
    Barnes Jewish Hospital – Operating Room Pod 2 Trauma, POD 2
    - Acute Critical Care
  • Surgical Specialties:
    Surgery/Trauma, Ortho Trauma (OTS), Plastics, Upper Extremity, Reconstructive Joint Surgery, Ortho Oncology
  • Shifts:

    3–12 hr shifts, Monday to Friday, 18:30–07:00 (6:30P–7:00A)
  • Schedule:

    No call, no weekends, 1–2 yearly holidays
  • Compensation:
    Loan repayment assistance, bonus eligible, comprehensive benefits
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing care standards.
  • Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educate patients and their families on illness/injury management, home care needs, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Engage in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, families or caregivers.
  • Proactively plan and ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
  • Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assess patient preferences, barriers to care, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
  • Work in a safety‑sensitive environment that requires constant state of alertness and safe operation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Nursing Diploma/Associate’s – Nursing (minimum).
  • No prior nursing or supervisory experience required.
  • RN license.
