Position: RN Supervisor - Neurosurgical (Full-time, Nights) | Mercy Hospital St Louis

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor for our Med Surg General Surgery unit. This leader coordinates daily clinical operations, supervises nursing staff, and ensures safe, evidence-based patient care. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, mentoring, and performance feedback; collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; monitoring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; and driving patient experience initiatives. The supervisor supports staff development, champions Mercy’s culture of compassion and diversity, and participates in process improvement, helping advance clinical excellence and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support Med Surg/General Surgery nursing staff during daily operations
  • Coordinate patient care delivery using evidence-based practices
  • Develop schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
  • Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance metrics
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to staff
  • Lead and participate in clinical process and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promote patient-centered care and positive patient experience
  • Support staff education, onboarding, and competency development
  • Foster Mercy’s culture of compassion, diversity, and collaboration
Qualifications and Key Competencies
  • Clinical supervision and team leadership

  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation

Requirements
  • Active RN license in state of practice
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Med Surg or related specialty certification (preferred)
