MySQL Heat Wave Sales Representative — SLED & Manufacturing

The MySQL Sales Team has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Sales Account Executive to join our team! In this role, you will focus primarily on hunting for new business and driving business development activities for MySQL Heat Wave Database Services—including MySQL license solutions—across a defined set of named accounts within the North America US territory. This position is focused on expanding our presence in the State, Local, and Education (SLED) and Manufacturing sectors.

MySQL Heat Wave is a fully managed database service powered by the Heat Wave in-memory query accelerator. It’s the only cloud service that combines transactions, real-time analytics across data warehouses and data lakes, and machine learning in one MySQL Database—without the complexity, latency, risks, and cost of ETL redundancy.

What you will do
  • Focus on hunting for new business by identifying and targeting new accounts within the SLED and Manufacturing sectors.

  • Lead business development activities to generate pipeline, win new customers, and establish a strong market presence.

  • Foster a culture of sales excellence across all aspects of the sales cycle.

  • Develop and strengthen C-level relationships within state, local government, education institutions, and manufacturing organizations, demonstrating business impact and ROI in a compelling manner.

  • Fine-tune the sales process and build greater levels of teamwork between marketing, sales, and account management.

  • Serve as a key ambassador and spokesperson in building the brand across SLED and Manufacturing markets.

  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory, leveraging MySQL Heat Wave and MySQL license solutions.

  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.

  • Develop and complete a comprehensive account/territory plan.

  • Build and articulate compelling value propositions around Heat Wave services and MySQL licensing.

  • Accelerate customer adoption in the SLED and Manufacturing sectors.

  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline.

  • Work with Oracle partners to expand reach and drive adoption, particularly within government and manufacturing environments.

What you will bring
  • Demonstrated business development and new business “hunter” skills with a proven track record of landing new accounts in technology sales.

  • 5+ years of direct field sales experience in analytics, databases, cloud or SaaS markets, ideally with a track record of selling to SLED and/or Manufacturing sector C-level executives.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

  • Passion and drive, along with demonstrated ability to sell innovative cloud technologies—including MySQL licensing solutions—to enterprise-level and public sector customers.

  • Driven mentality with the ability to achieve stretch targets. Demonstrates strong leadership, excellent execution and, when needed, adapts through experimentation and collaboration.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to clearly present sophisticated ideas to senior business executives, CIOs, and CTOs across public sector and manufacturing organizations.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to promote and close opportunities.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time within North America.

Responsibilities

Primary job duty is to sell technology software products and related services in a defined territory. Identifies, qualifies and closes new opportunities. Manages accounts including the entire sales process from business development prospecting and specifications through contract negotiations, signing, and post-sales support. Leverages the Oracle sales model to maximize revenue growth and increase local market share. Builds and expands business partner revenue and self sufficiency.
