Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration HVAC equipment in Walmart retail stores.

• Maintain and repair facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders for store support.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• At least 2 years of commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance experience.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to pass an MVR report.
• Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or 4 years of such experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
