NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice to recruit an Accounts Senior
. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to join a progressive firm where they can manage their own portfolio of clients while supporting the development of junior team members.
Reporting into the Practice Manager and Partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
Accounts Senior Responsibilities- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Reviewing work prepared by Accounts Assistants and Trainees
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Assisting with corporation tax computations and submissions
- Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Providing support and guidance on accounting and bookkeeping matters
- Supporting junior team members through coaching and mentoring
- Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and practice procedures
- Assisting Managers and Partners with ad-hoc projects and advisory assignments
- Managing multiple client deadlines and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed businesses
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
Desirable:
- Experience using Xero, Sage, Quick Books, or similar cloud-based accounting software
- Experience reviewing junior staff work
- Exposure to management accounts and advisory services
