NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice to recruit an Accounts Senior
. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to join a progressive firm where they can manage their own portfolio of clients while supporting the development of junior team members.

Reporting into the Practice Manager and Partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.

Accounts Senior Responsibilities
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports
  • Reviewing work prepared by Accounts Assistants and Trainees
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Assisting with corporation tax computations and submissions
  • Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Providing support and guidance on accounting and bookkeeping matters
  • Supporting junior team members through coaching and mentoring
  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and practice procedures
  • Assisting Managers and Partners with ad-hoc projects and advisory assignments
  • Managing multiple client deadlines and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard
Accounts Senior Experience Required

To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:

Essential:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed businesses
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively
  • Strong Excel and accounting software skills

Desirable:

  • Experience using Xero, Sage, Quick Books, or similar cloud-based accounting software
  • Experience reviewing junior staff work
  • Exposure to management accounts and advisory services
