Position: Project Supervisor (MU/ I&C)
Reporting to: Operations Manager
To undertake and manage all on site activities for Multi Utility projects
, supervising gangs (Direct and subcontract), troubleshooting and ensuring delivery of programme. To work collaboratively with the clients Site Managers, internal staff, operatives, sub-contractors and other professionals to support this process. Responsible for all aspects of health and safety, quality and environmental assurance
, contract administration, cost control,
profit & loss responsibility
, communication and people management.
Fully accountable for Health, safety and quality on each site.
Ensure at least 1 x Audits and TBTs are carried out every week. Ensure all NCR s are closed out effectively and quickly.
Reporting of all hazards and near misses and promotion of positive interventions with the teams.
Ensuring all RAMS are referred to daily before undertaking any works.
Ensuring the teams adhere to company policy/ HSG
47 when excavating in the Highway and on site near live services.
Ensuring all incidents are reported immediately with written reports carried out within 48 hours of the incident occurring, ensuring any disciplinary action is taken in conjunction with HR, where necessary.
Management of all paperwork and submitting completions in a timely manner to the standard set out by the Company.
Office drawings to be kept up to date and always live.
As laids to be submitted to PMs for submission to CAD without delay and vetted regularly.
CustomerEnsure that all works are pre-sited prior to the works commencing and the client is fully aware of our works programme and sequence of works. All pre-sites should be documented and uploaded onto the system. These reports need to be to a high standard and zero tolerance on not carrying out.
Always deliver the programme of works to the highest quality.
Always communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively with our clients/ site managers and work colleagues providing an excellent service.
Provide feedback to clients on how they can improve following any issues on site eg aborted visits or delays.
To always provide an excellent service to all our clients with clear and concise communication.
PeopleManagement of MU operatives and subcontractors to maximise efficiencies and drive production whilst ensuring that operatives work their contractual hours (on site for 7.30am or in the yard for 7am leaving by 7.30am and leaving site at 4.30pm).
Performance manage teams and carry out appraisals when required.
Manage the teams in a fair and honest way and manage the way you would like to be managed.

Carry out Joint measures with the supply chain on a weekly basis.
Lines and Levels
it is your responsibility to agree all lines and levels prior to the teams being mobilised.
Forward planning of work is accurately and efficiently managed.
Where applicable, accurate ordering of materials to avoid wastage. Keeping on top of housekeeping onsite, regular stock stakes to avoid duplication ordering and clearing of all surplus materials to stock.
Liaising with Project Manager (where applicable) responsible for ensuring the correct plant & equipment is ordered for the job on time with no delays ensuring that the security of the plant & equipment is always safe and secure. This should be assessed during pre-site and fed back to the PM to arrange.
Carry out in depth handovers with the teams when issuing them with the work packs.
Ensure that all sites are adequately signed with company image and Apology boards are used when working in the highway, keeping on top of housekeeping onsite and clearing sites of all debris.
Take a proactive stance on POD s (Proof of delivery) ensuring all tickets are collated and handed to the accounts team.
SustainableEnsure we always work in an efficient manner, minimising the number of visits/ personnel to site.
Ensure regular updates with the office following 4pm phone calls to the teams to ensure the programme is always up to date.
Always look to recycle materials where applicable and able to.
Responsible for the Profit and loss of this workstream.
Person Specification Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum 5 years experience working within the MU industry.
Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory role.
CITB SMSTS Site Manager Safety Training Scheme.
EUSR SHEA G/W/E.
EUSR Safe Control of Mains Connections (Water).
EUSR SCMC(W) Senior Competent Person.
Full clean driving licence.
First Aid Training 3 Day.
Skills and KnowledgeGood working knowledge of the utility industry and of all relevant trade disciplines.
