We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician with experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care to join our urgent care team. Physician at Convenient
MD serve as a clinical leader, mentor, and supervising provider, ensuring exceptional patient care, supporting Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and compliance.
- Deliver Exceptional Patient-Centered Care
- Perform comprehensive evaluations including history, physical examination, and medical decision-making.
- Diagnose and manage acute illness and injury across the urgent care spectrum.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing (e.g., x‑rays, EKGs, laboratory studies).
- Perform in‑office procedures including wound repair, incision and drainage, splinting, joint injections, and other urgent care procedures.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans aligned with current clinical standards and best practices.
- Ensure efficient, high‑quality, and compassionate patient experiences.
- Serve as Registered Supervising Physician
- Provide physician oversight in accordance with state regulations and governing board requirements.
- Collaborate with and supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Be available for clinical consultation as required by law and company policy.
- Participate in chart review and quality assurance processes as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all supervisory agreements and documentation standards.
- Clinical Leadership & Mentorship
- Act as the clinical leader within the clinic, especially in the absence of the Practice Manager.
- Mentor and support new‑graduate and experienced APPs.
- Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and allied health staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and ongoing education initiatives.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation in the EMR.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Uphold infection‑control standards and clinic safety protocols.
- Stay current on evolving legislation, clinical guidelines, and professional standards.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and risk management efforts.
- Work closely with clinic staff to ensure coordinated, thoughtful, and timely patient dispositions—including transfers when appropriate.
- Partner with operational leadership to optimize workflow, patient throughput, and clinical outcomes.
- Contribute to a respectful, team‑based environment grounded in professionalism and shared purpose.
- Education, Licensure, & Certifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board Certified by the applicable governing board (e.g., ABEM, ABFM, ABIM or other relevant specialty board).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- Eligible and willing to serve as a Registered Supervising Physician in accordance with state requirements.
- Active, unrestricted DEA registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS certifications, or online only classes.
- Relevant experience – Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
- Strong mentor – Demonstrated experience supervising or collaborating with APPs preferred.
- Strong leadership skills – Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non‑provider clinic staff.
- Excellent team player – Enjoy collaborating with others and being a part of a strong team dynamic.
