Job Title: Aftercare Coordinator
Department: Aftercare Program
Reports to: School Principal
Position SummaryThe Aftercare Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting students at the end of the school day by creating a calm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. This position ensures that children experience a home‑like rhythm in the afternoon, with opportunities for play, rest, creativity, and connection. The Aftercare program serves students who remain on campus beyond regular dismissal and is an important extension of the school day.
SpecificResponsibilities
- Coordinate program operations and student enrollments with support from Business Manager
- Oversee the monthly billing process with support from Business Manager
- Maintain consistent communication with parents
- Collaborate with class teachers to support continuity of care
- Lead play-based, developmentally appropriate activities following a weekly rhythm
- Prepare and serve a healthy afternoon snack
- Facilitate safe and orderly student pick-up procedures
- Ensure the classroom is cleaned and reset after students depart
- Support children in caring for the outdoor play yard and ensure it is tidied after use
- Uphold all school policies, procedures and safety expectations related to the Aftercare Program
Job Requirements Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CPR/First Aid training certificate or willingness to complete required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a school or childcare setting
- Lead/program coordinator experience preferred
- Previous teaching experience in a Waldorf school preferred
Job Type: Hourly to Full-time depending upon interest
Salary: $21/hr to start, potential for full-time salary $41,000 - $50,000 depending upon experience

Hours
- 2:30 p.m.
- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding non-school days) - Weekly food shopping for snack items (1 hr/week)
- Possibility for growth to a full-time position as a substitute during the school day
