Academic Support Administrator – Writing and Liberal Arts

The Academic Support Administrator – Writing and Liberal Arts provides leadership for writing, liberal arts, and academic communication support within the Wolak Learning Center. You will recruit, train, supervise, and develop Peer Educators while coordinating high-quality tutoring services, workshops, class-embedded support, review sessions, and other academic skill-building initiatives for campus undergraduate and graduate students. With a focus on inclusive, strengths-based practice, you will support students in college-level writing, critical reading, research, revision, source use, AI literacy, and writing integrity.

The Academic Support Administrator uses student engagement data, assessment results, staff observations, and campus feedback to evaluate support impact, inform service improvements, and strengthen student persistence. In collaboration with faculty, campus partners, Peer Educators, the Assistant Director, and the Director of the Wolak Learning Center, you will identify student learning needs, develop proactive and just-in-time academic supports, represent the Wolak Learning Center in campus settings, and contribute to broader Learning Center initiatives, outreach, staff meetings, and Jump Start early arrival programming.

You will report to the Director of the Wolak Learning Center.

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years of professional experience delivering academic support services, tutoring, writing instruction, student success programming, or related higher education interventions.
• 1+ years of experience supervising, coaching, training, or developing staff, peer educators, tutors, or student employees.
• Master's degree
• Experience with learning theories, academic support methodologies, writing center practices, tutoring frameworks, and evidence-based student success strategies.
• Experience in student development theory and the academic, transitional, and developmental factors that influence student persistence, engagement, and achievement among traditional-aged college students.
• Experience implementing student-centered support practices and fostering inclusive learning environments.
• Demonstrated skills in staff supervision, project coordination, workflow management, problem analysis, and data-informed decision-making.
• Experience developing and maintaining instructional materials, process documentation, student support resources, and training content, with the ability to facilitate educational workshops and knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Experience maintaining accurate records, completing tasks, and meet established deadlines.
• Proficiency with higher education technologies and productivity tools, including learning management systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS), Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration platforms, and data tracking/reporting systems.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $53,156.00 - $85,068.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $58,738.00 - $79,470.00.
