Job Summary

The Work Study Assistant will support the Director of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Business Initiatives in advancing programs that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and cooperative business education across the University. This role is ideal for a motivated student with an interest in business development, marketing, event planning, and community engagement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Event Support:
    Assist with planning, organizing, and executing workshops, speaker events, and networking sessions related to entrepreneurship and cooperative business.
  • Marketing and Communication:
    Help design and distribute promotional materials (digital and print) for upcoming events, including social media posts, flyers, and newsletters.
  • Entrepreneur Mapping Project:
    Conduct research and maintain a database of current students and alumni who are entrepreneurs or involved in cooperative ventures.
  • Community Engagement:
    Help identify and connect with student groups, local cooperatives, and alumni networks to strengthen participation in university initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study funding.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or Canva preferred.
  • Interest in entrepreneurship, social enterprise, or cooperative business models is a plus.

    Collaborate with university staff, student organizations, alumni, entrepreneurs, and community partners.
  • Professionalism:
    Demonstrate reliability, organization, accountability, and professional workplace behavior.
  • Leadership:
    Develop initiative and leadership skills by taking ownership of assigned projects and contributing to program goals.
  • Equity & Inclusion:
    Practice inclusive and respectful engagement with diverse students, alumni, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders.
Work Schedule

Schedule is flexible and depends on workload, events, and activities. There may be work required in the evening, weekend, or remotely.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
