Job DescriptionThe most important qualification a volunteer can possess is the desire to help students navigate the road to academic success and personal happiness. No formal degree, training, or experience is required; however the district is always interested in matching volunteer skills and work experience with school/classroom needs.
Volunteers who serve in an ongoing basis and have one-to-one contact with students shall be considered DESIGNATED volunteers. As such, designated volunteers shall be required to submit a criminal background check and fingerprinting; designated volunteers must volunteer at least every six months to keep their status active. Mentors, homework helpers, overnight chaperones, and volunteer coaches are examples of designated volunteers.
Volunteers will be accepted into the program based on the results of their background check and screening by the school principal or principal’s designee.
