Breakthrough’s one-of-a-kind students‑teaching‑students model provides six years of tuition‑free academic programming for Manchester students from marginalized communities and inspires high school and college students to become the next wave of educators, advocates, and leaders.

We’re looking for a creative, motivated intern to join our small but mighty year-round team. You’ll play a key role in marketing, communications, event planning, and helping us share Breakthrough’s impact and shape our future. The assistant is responsible for managing and supporting various aspects of this non‑profit educational organization. The person who fills this position will receive significant training and support and is expected to become autonomous in successfully achieving duties.

This is an opportunity to gain hands‑on professional experience while making a meaningful impact in your community. As an Education, Equity and Impact Assistant you’ll work alongside Breakthrough Staff and educators, contribute to real projects, and develop skills in various areas of non‑profit operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Communications & Social Media:
    Express your creativity by developing content for BTM’s social platforms;
  • Event Management:
    Build confidence by planning, preparing for, and supporting special events and regular Saturday programming;
  • Education & Programming:
    Assist with teacher training events and program sessions to get an inside look at how educational programs are created while building connections with education professionals;
  • Administrative Support:
    Gain clerical experience by preparing materials for program activities and supporting staff with day to day administrative tasks such as mailing, printing, and filing;
  • Data Tracking & Organization:
    Take charge in the retrieval and organization of confidential student and academic information while developing strong organizational and professional skills;
  • Leadership:
    Find your voice by leading group activities, taking on meaningful responsibilities, solving problems, and learning how to turn your ideas into action.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Reliable transportation
