NH Job Corps is seeking a qualified individual and a passionate educator who can make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a Counselor at NHJC, you will play a pivotal role in our students' futures. You will coordinate courses, course delivery, and program activities, leading to full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced technical training. Your guidance will be instrumental in shaping their career paths.

You will guide our students in a specialized training program that equips them with the skills to immediately contribute to the field of their chosen technical trade, setting them on a path to a fulfilling career.

As a Counselor, you are a champion for student success from enrollment to completion. You will dive into a high-impact role where you provide comprehensive personal, educational, and career path counseling to students who are eager to build bright futures. By cultivating strong mentoring relationships, you will guide students through the Job Corps program, help them develop actionable independent living skills, and ensure they are ready to thrive in the modern workforce.

• Drive Personal and Career Growth:
  Form deeply supportive mentoring relationships to provide tailored personal, educational, and career counseling throughout each student’s enrollment.
• Map Out Success:
  Architect and continuously update individualized Personal Career Development Plans that help students navigate their academic goals and technical training.
• Break Down Barriers:
  Actively identify and remediate personal or environmental barriers that stand between your students and their long-term success.
• Provide Holistic Support:
  Coordinate crucial on-center and off-center services to maximize student retention, including stepping up to transport students safely when required.
• Foster a Safe Community:
  Contribute to a welcoming, secure campus culture by treating every student with absolute care and respect while modeling elite professionalism and accountability.
• Step Up as a Leader:
  Track student milestones accurately using data systems, and confidently serve as the Acting Counseling Manager when leadership is away.

• Education:
  
  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, which must include at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction.
• Experience:
  
  A minimum of one year of experience in counseling or a closely related field, with a preference for those who have prior experience in Job Corps or similar youth development programs.
• Credentials: A valid in-state Driver’s License alongside the ability to meet company insurability standards.
• Core Strengths:
  Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, an analytical approach to resolving student challenges, and an unwavering commitment to data integrity and strict confidentiality.
